The bug has bitten ….again

I have a serious case of bug bites. My whole body is covered, every single inch of me. There is no cream lotion or potion to fix it and there is only one cure……travel. Travelling is all I can think about, it’s gotten into my bones, I wake up thinking up travelling, go to sleep thinking about travelling, spend my spare time researching it and watching countless YouTube travel vlogs, I just can’t get it out of my head. I might as well face it, I’m addicted to…..travel.

It’s definitely been a while, my once annual trips to Vietnam staying at the amazing The Reverie dried up when covid hit. In a comforting way I felt like Ho Chi Minh was my second home and the sudden realisation that I may not return left an empty space in my heart. Travelling to Vietnam gave me a feeling of serenity. On touch down I would immediately feel joy and excitement at the anticipation of the wonders I was about to experience. I spent many a day in lockdown reminiscing about my Vietnam adventures.

Living in Australia in Victoria our lockdowns during covid seemed never ending and even as I write this in the middle of Winter 2022, there is always the doubt in the back of my mind that what we do book, is never guaranteed until you arrive at the destination. But, I live in hope, therefore I shall look to book!

To keep myself busy during lockdown, I decided to return to being a student and for a year I studied and obtained a Certificate in tourism which was the closest thing I could get to travel. Sharing stories and experiences with my fellow class mates and teachers opened my eyes to so many places I would never previously have considered, so my bucket list of travel destinations has certainly grown.

I have plans, oh how I have plans – or perhaps I should call them dreams! I’m making list after list of the things I want to do, places I want to visit and food I want to eat. However maybe I should cool my jets a little (pardon the pun) and be happy to travel and explore beautiful Australia. I feel that the time has come to finally scratch these bug bites of mine and make some new memories.

Cheers to new adventures!

So stay tuned on my blog, Instagram and YouTube, adventure awaits!

Tennille xoxo
